Group singing is cheaper than therapy, healthier than drinking, and certainly more fun than working out. It is the one thing in life where feeling better is pretty much guaranteed. [www.medicalnewstoday.com]
The choir meets on Mondays 12 noon-1pm in the Moorfoot Building (near the Carers Centre). There is no pressure to perform but we were delighted that almost everyone did during Carers Week at the Carers Café and the busking day– and they (and the audience) thoroughly enjoyed it.
The sessions are fun, there are no auditions, everyone is welcome, and you come when you can so there is no feeling of letting anyone down if, something unexpected crops up. So if you ‘don’t like Mondays’, why not give the Council and Carers Choir a try – it could become your favourite day of the week! The choir breaks for summer but will recommence in September
If you are interested, but not keen on going on your own, Jan from the Carers Centre would be happy to meet you beforehand in the foyer at Moorfoot.
