Everyone at Sheffield Carers Centre would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to Sickleholme Golf Club for raising an incredible £5,000 to support carers in Sheffield. The golfers chose to support the charity just before the country went into lockdown last March. Despite not being able to use many of their usual fundraising activities, the golfers overcame the challenges of the restrictions and raised this tremendous amount over the past year.

Pauline Kimantas, Chief Executive at Sheffield Carers Centre commented: “We were delighted when the club’s Lady Captain, Wendy Appleton, told us they were supporting the charity and are grateful for all the efforts of this inspiring group of women over the past year. We know many club members have personal experience of being carers, and they adopted our cause with tremendous enthusiasm and commitment. Some of the donation has already been used for ‘Christmas Goody Bags’ for our carers, and the rest is being set aside to help restart some of our face-to-face social activities for cares later this year.”
