The Carers Centre recently bid for some funding to further develop the work with Younger Adult Carers. Carers Trust (a national organisation) has given us £5,000 to spend on strengthening links with employers and education providers, and to increase their awareness of challenges facing carers which may prevent then preventing them getting into work or education.
We’d also like to spend some of this money on offering training sessions in Autumn 2015 to people aged 18-25 for advice about benefits, education, work, and how to combine these with a caring role. We are keen to hear from carers in this age group what they would find most useful for example social activities, advice about applying for jobs or apprenticeships, advice about benefits, online blogs or a Facebook group?
Please give us your ideas by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also send us your email address if you would value information on these events as they come up and we will then contact you with details and further information nearer the time. Alternatively, you can regularly check back on our website.
