Date: Monday 22nd October 2018

Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The sessions are fun, there are no auditions, everyone is welcome, and you come when you can so there is no feeling of letting anyone down if something unexpected crops up. So if you ‘don’t like Mondays’, why not give the Council and Carers Choir a try – it could become your favourite day of the week!

There is no pressure to perform but we were delighted that almost everyone did at the Carers Christmas Café in December – and the audience thoroughly enjoyed it. The choir will be performing again at the Café in Carers Week.

If you are interested, but not keen on going on your own, Jan from the Carers Centre would be happy to meet you beforehand in the foyer at Moorfoot.

Date: Wednesday 24th October 2018

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Short sessions of up to 20 minutes are available for carers to access advice and information related to their caring role from one of our Carer Advisors. The drop-in session is available at the Carers Centre 10.00 till 12.00 noon each Wednesday morning.

If further support is required beyond the 20 minutes, this will be arranged with you at the time, but follow-up will normally be by phone.

No booking is necessary – just turn up at the Carers Centre on the day.

At most of these sessions, a Carer Advisor who speaks Urdu/Punjabi is available, though we cannot guarantee this every month. If you require carer support in any other languages, please contact the Carer Advice Line to arrange this.

Adult Carers’ & Young Carers’ Action Plan Review

Following the launch of the Adult Carers’ Action Plan in Carers Week on 12th June, this November meeting will give carers an opportunity to hear what has happened since the launch and to comment on progress and priorities.

The Young Carers’ Action Plan will also be reviewed and future plans discussed.

All unpaid carers are invited to attend. If you can’t make the meeting, any notes and actions from the meeting will be shared (contact Frazer Kirk to be added to the distribution list).

The event is hosted by Emma Dickinson, Commissioning Manager from Sheffield City Council. Please contact Frazer Kirk, Adult Social Care for details by email: frazer.kirk@sheffield.gov.uk or by phone on 0114 205 3676
