This service is provided by Tricia Carter of Lupton Fawcett Solicitors.
We are able to offer carers a free half-hour of advice, covering some areas of personal law which relate to your caring role. For example, you may wish to discuss:
- Wills and discretionary trusts, with specialism in advising parents of those with a learning disability.
- Lasting power of attorney and court appointed Deputyship
- Deprivation of assets
- Administering estates (preparing for your own death and how to simplify things, or after someone has passed away)
If, after receiving this advice, you need to have some legal work done for you (for example making a Will) you will need to arrange for a solicitor of your choice to do this for you.
The sessions usually take place on a Friday at our office at Concept House.
For an appointment, please ring our Carer Advice line on 0114 272 8362.
